Mast head
Exposed magazine uses Sans serif bold font in white every issue. However the brackets surrounding the words change colours according to the main colour pallet of the subject. Making a clear brand image and a original issue every time this is iconography, looking like a stamp. With my mast head I will do the same with basing the colour off the house style of the main image. Here are some examples:
How I made them:
When picking the fonts for my masthead I wanted a minimalistic clear sans serif font. This was to match conventions I'd seen in other events magazine mastheads. (displayed in my moodpboard above). However I did not want a chunky font. The font I chose was Sukumvit set. This was due to the clear shape and spacing of the letters. I felt this would fit nicely into the minimalist magazine style I was looking for.
The mastheads colour would change depending on the main tones of my front cover image. This would create a unique house style for each new issue of my magazine. Underneath is an example of this:

Production of masthead:
To make the logo my own I wanted to alter the text since it was not alined properly with the text beneath it. To alter the alignment I had to make the text layer into a standard layer. This enabled me to rearrange and alter elements of the text I wanted. I removed the cross of the letter 'A' in the word peaks. This made the text have a mirrored effect, overall giving me the desired clean look.
So the base colour of the masthead wasn't as hard I reduced the opacity of the background layer.
Vol. 1
- Text is off centre
- reduced opacity has not been applied
- The lettering has not been yet adapted
Vol.2
- Text has been aligned using the lasso tool and ruler
- Reduced background opacity so the main image isn't distracted from
- The letter 'A' has been modified to fit the desired look
