LO4: Exporting Magazine Pages

Exporting in Photoshop

When exporting the front cover I will be exporting it as a .tif file, I will do this because its a high quality file for printing and its lossless. I also want to be using the industry standard file just like my competitors. Another advantage of using a .tif file is that its universally accepted meaning that it can be opened by a range of softwares. I can also post the .tif on websites as well for my online readers to access it. However because the file is high quality and lossless, the file sizes will be a lot larger.

The resolution for the file is set to 300 pixels per inch because when printing I want the best quality possible. However if I wanted to upload to the internet I would have had to use a resolution of 72 pixels per inch.

Front cover exporting information.

Exporting in InDesign

Exporting my DPS as a PDF, because it is accessible to any device. Universal file that the magazine industry use to send to reprographics. Everything stays the same in regards to alinement, nothing will move.

I saved all images as a .jpg this is because it is a lossless file type meaning I will get the highest quality when exporting my final magazine.
